Leading National Charity 'Turn2Us' kicks off Benefits Awareness Month for April 2012 to help raise awareness about benefits available particularly for people on low incomes, who often just don't know they could be entitled to support. They are encouraging people to check their own benefit entitlements using their excellent online benefit calculator at Turn2Us.org.uk

Recent statistics show that over £20 billion in welfare benefits goes unclaimed in the UK, a stark contrast to the 'millions' the tabloids and government ministers constantly highlight as being lost to fraudulent claims.

In particular, it is often working families with low household incomes who could be getting financial help but don't realise there is a range of 'in-work' benefits.

Benefits Awareness Month runs from 2nd April and the Luton Advice Network is also encouraging people to find out what their entitlement is.
